You probably know SATS as the biggest chain of fitness clubs in the Nordics. We have more than 250 clubs in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland and we help approximately 700,000 members reach their fitness goals.
Less known is the fact that SATS is also heavily invested in technology. We have a technology department consisting of around 30 developers, and 50 wonderful tech people all in all. The digital space allows us to communicate with and motivate our members using state of the art technology. As a part of SATS, you have the opportunity to help people live a better life and accomplish their goals. You do not need to be an elite athlete to work at SATS (you don't necessarily have to be an athlete at all), but you do have to be motivated by the fact that the most important part of working at SATS is to motivate the Nordic population to work out, and to make them better at it.
Our web developers work in autonomous product teams, alongside developers, designers, product managers and other stakeholders. This means that you will contribute in the product development process from concept to design to implementation. As a web developer you will work full-stack, and together with your team have responsiblity for all aspects of the product, from hosting and monitoring to developing. The tech-stack includes modern technologies and platforms such as Azure Functions, NodeJS, Typescript, esbuild, Playwright and React.
We are now looking for a senior web developer. Ideally, you have walked at least four years with web development - any stack will do - and you are motivated by keeping up to date on all aspects of web development.
We aim to create smaller and simpler systems, that easily can change direction. This makes a good environment of learning, where we can explore and implement new technology and ideas as the system and its needs evolves. To ensure high quality code that is easy to maintain, we value automated testing, technical discussions and code review.
What is it like, working with technology at SATS, you may ask?
Our developers are eager to learn and as eager to spread their knowledge, and we have frequent tech lunches, show & tells, hackathons and just plain ol' pizza and drinks nights where we play Smash Bros or watch Apple or Google flash their newest stuff. Sometimes we work out together, either in small groups or with the entire service office.
We are based in Nydalen, Oslo, which is close to everything (there is both a SATS club and a micro-brewery in very close proximity)
SATS is commited to being an inclusive community, and we are looking for developers with a range of different backgrounds, experiences, passions and interests. We have developers from all over the world, and we are very proud of the fact that 30% of our developers are women.
